About Mr. Okwuokei Alex – Head, Risk Management/Compliance/Internal Control
Mr. Okwuokei Alex is the Head, Risk Management/Compliance/Internal Control of Nuggets Microfinance Bank Ltd. Prior his appointment as the Chief Risk Officer of Nuggets Microfinance Bank Ltd he was the Acting Head, Internal Control and Compliance Officer of Shalom Microfinance Bank Ltd; a positon he held and on which he showed dexterity in delivery of key risk analysis, measuring, monitoring and management, highlighting areas of risk and enforcing compliance and ensuring quality assurance between June 2017 and March 2023.
He is an alumnus of Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State where he holds Higher National Diploma in Business Administration. He is a Certified Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) having completed the Mandatory Microfinance Certification Programs of the CIBN/CBN/NDIC.
He started his work career in Oceanic Bank Plc (Now Eko Bank Plc) in 2006 as a Teller in the operation department of the Bank before joining Stanbic IBTC Bank in 2013. He was all through his time with Stanbic part of the operation team in Teller point up until he joined Fortis Microfinance Bank Plc in 2015 as a Resident Internal Control Officer (RICO). He left Fortis MFB in 2017 and joined Shalom Microfinance Bank Ltd where he worked as an Internal Control and Compliance Officer and rose to the position of the Acting Head, Internal Control and Compliance of the Bank before joining Nuggets Microfinance Bank Ltd. He is a music and travelling enthusiast who is happily married with kids.
